i loved jack's fight towards the end ... and when doyal went "jack!" after he looked around in amazement at all the people jack killed.. i loved that!! but, we are on episode 17 and the terror threat is over.. the same thing happened in season 5 remember? and jack just went after logan for the rest.. seems this time he will just be going after aurdrey for the rest! Also, what the hell happened to logan!! we better find out! that was a total loose end! and i want to see pierce again!!
all in all an amazing episode!

they should do.. but its been around 4 hours since we saw logan, so either he's dead, or they managed to recover him. the fact is thaat we aren't going to find out what happened exactly after the medic said "we're loosing him!"

Well, just for the record, I haven't watched this week's episode yet, but I couldn't help but spoil myself just a little bit by reading the fan reactions and synopsis of what went down.
Well, isn't this just freaking hilarious? Looks like once again, 24 has made a complete turn with the storylines and completed shifted the focus of the day (this should remind you very much of the extremely similar thing that happened in the late hours of Day 4 two seasons ago).
Hahaha, it's amazing how within just an hour or two, the entire atmosphere of the show can change so much. From what I've gathered regarding the hour so far, Gredenko and Fayed are both dead now and Cheng Zhi has returned as the main antagonist / "big bad" to close out the season.
This smells an awful lot like Day 4.
But seriously, even though I haven't watched the hour yet (and I look forward to doing so very much indeed), let us pictorially explain what I've come to gather (from what I've read) that we now know:

In my own opinion Prince_Krillo, you shouldn't have read this thread first! It gave away everything good about this episode! Either way though, it was probably the best! I loved it! The fight at the end was so cool! I loved what Palmer dead, and I'm gaining more respect for Tom Lennox now. I liked how he took down the Vice President and didn't tell anyone because it was the right thing to do, he doesn't brag about it(unless he's going to use it for his own worm-like advantage). The torture of Fayed, the crash, the end, it was great! And I guess the rest of the season is going to be Jack saving Audrey (I have no idea If I spelled that right), which is cool, cause the threat isn't as large, but to Jack, it's just as important. So cool!
By the way, who thinks Cheng Zhi is still on American soil? Or better yet, what's the price for Audrey? Who thinks he's going to ask for Jack back?

i dont.. i think hes going to ask for the remaning nukes! why would he give jack up in the first place if he wanted him back!?

It's almost as if they knew exactly when Jack had secured the nukes. My theory is that Doyle is working with, or at least in connection with the chinese.....

What a episode, best of the season and amongst the best ever, a lot packed into the episode, a lot of twists and turns.
Jack taking down fayed's men reminded me a lot of the end of the first season when when he went after the drazens, great to see audrey back and i really hope Jack kills Cheng.

yeah i agree.. cos he was mad about kim then, he thought they'd killed her.. maybe he was mad about audrey, he only found out she was "dead" a couple of hours ago..

I'm amazed that so many people think this was a great episode, I thought it was the worst ever. I would even go as far as saying that with this episode 24 has jumped the shark. By the high standards I have come to expect from 24 season 6 has been pretty poor.
In the past we have seen Jack chop off someones fingers to get information, why did he only rough up Fayed with a few punches? There are so many things Jack could have done to get Fayed to talk, go back a few episode to when Jack interrogated his brother. Fayed had it easy by comparison.
Jack must be a big fan of the Die Hard movies. Killing Fayed with the chain was exactly what McClane did in Die Hard (although the bad guy didn't die and popped up at the end, I wonder if Fayed will reappear in episode 24?) The line Jack used when killing Fayed "Say hello to your brother" is from Die Hard with a Vengeance. It made me laugh but 24 is not really a comedy is it?
Are we really supposed to believe that the Chinese faked Audreys death and the held her captive for months? It doesn't look good for the remaining episodes but I'll keep watching in the hope that things will improve.

Are you kidding? For one thing, Jack was interrogating Fayed in a kitchen, I don't really believe he had the proper tools to cut off Fayed's finger. And, they we're transporting Fayed for more torture. Aside from that though, I believe the writers are trying to get away from the torture scenes, considering how many they've had so far and the criticism they're getting from it. "Say hello to your brother." is common and I've heard it used all over the place.. often the speaker will replace brother with another lost loved one. I don't find anything wrong with the Chinese faking Audrey's death, they tortured Jack for months. They probably knew the president was going to get Jack out one way or another, or they planned on using Audrey as blackmail for her father, considering his high government position.

The best part of the episode, was when he was hanging Fayed, that Jack gets closer to his ear and says '' Say hello to your brother''.
That was satisfying eh?

Im sorry Movieman1866 but if you are seriously suggesting that this episode could be the worst of the show you are delusional. This episode is without a doubt the greatest 24 episode I have ever seen (and I have seen all 5 seasons and so far of 6)! I loved everything about this episode, the setup was great, Jack under the truck was fantastic, Jack taking out all of Fayed's men and then the final fight scene with Fayed when they both run out of ammo was collosal! You could really feel what both men were fighting for and what they believed in. That topped the episode off for me as one of the best I've seen but then you get the shocking phone call from Audrey aswell putting it at the top of my list of favourite episodes, easilly the best from all 6 seasons!

To be honest I hope not although I think Philip will return. Jack's family was not done as well as I had hoped, and making S5 Graham into S6 Graem (SP?) Bauer didn't sit right with me.
And does anyone know what happened to Logan? I was hoping for a much more substantial input from him this season, adding another perspective on an already complex character :(

This was an amazing show! Doyle's look while viewing Jack's kill, Fayad using his tunnel-vision, Fayad chain necklace- we all saw it coming but the kill was up there with Jack's stadium neck break..wow oh wow oh wow. The previews for next weeks episode look good too. I love when Palmer goes "Your asking me to sign off on a suicide mission!" and Jack goes "Mr. Palmer. You owe me."
And one of the best lines from this episode was when Jack grinned at Fayed and said "Now we're gonna have some fun."

kinda reminded me of season 2 when jack had nina myers in the back of the van, and drugged the guy that was supposed to watch him. he never actually said those words, but the look he gave nina and her expression looked similar to fayed

Best episode of 24 I think ever!
The last 7 minutes are up there in my top moments:
Jack gunning down the Drazens
Jack going in alone to rescue Heller and Audrey
Jack's speach to Logan at the end of day 5
Jack's reaction to the nuclear bomb going off day 6
Oh... any way for me to see previews of next weeks episode? I'm in the Uk and don't have access to youtube.

I liked when Doyle looked at Fayed's dead body and said "Damn Jack." Thats my favorite part. I also love how Jack grabbed his original gun afterwards. I knew they would drop another cliffhanger at the end... it was unavoidable.

In response to Call-of-Duty, it is a fair point that the phrase "Say hello to your brother" is a common one and on its own I wouldn't have an issue with it. As soon as Jack put the chain around Fayed's neck I thought of Die Hard, then when he followed it up with the line "Say hello to your brother" I just laughed, it really did ruin the scene. What should have been dramatic was turned into a joke. In fact there has been a Die Hard link since episode 1, In Die Hard with a Vengeance McClane (the good guy) was responsible for killing Simons (the bad guy) brother just as Jack had killed Fayeds brother. Perhaps the writers were paying homage to Die Hard, produced by Fox as is 24, or it could be seen as plagiarism.
For those of you that are either too young or have never seen the Die Hard movies this will not be an issue but to me it feels like Fox are taking their audience for fools. At the very least it is lazy writing. The main plot of terrorists with suitcase nukes should have made this the best series of 24 yet but through poor writing and too many characters that I just don't care about it has, so far, been the worst. Seven episodes left to turn things around and I hope they do.
Now how long left to wait for tonights episode?

doyle was gutted when he saw how jack a man who has been in prison and tortured for the last 18 months to the chinese has just stopped everything and killed fayed
that was great! how jack ran at him to fight him when his ammo went!
