Hi, I'm from the UK and when 24 first came on here it was on BBC2. This meant no ad-breaks and it was all over in 45 minutes. Consequently, we had a slightly different view of "real-time", but it really rollicked along.
Series 3 went to Sky One and they thought that it would be a good idea to stuff more ad-breaks than even an American could stomach, resulting in a show that went on for 1 hour 15 minutes: half an hour longer than the Beeb... and you had to pay extra for the privilege.
Just in case you wanted to know where the name came from!
